/boot/grub/menu.lstの変更は明日試します。

コンソールが日本語表示できません」のようなfbtermが使えなくなるということ
は一度もありません。
dmesg|grep fb0の結果が

fb0: VESA VGA frame buffer device
でしたから，多分関係ないと思います。
