[vine-users:082030] tgif での日本語

Vine-users の皆様、

秋田と申します。
昨日、Vine 6.0 (クリーンインストール)から、
apt-get dist-upgradeにて、Vine6.1 にしました。
Vine 6.0 の時は Tgif で日本語入力ができていたのですが、
6.1 に上げた後は font のパスが変わったのか、日本語 font が使えません。
プロンプトには以下のような warning がでます。

$tgif&
Warning: No type converter registered for 'String' to 'Bitmap' conversion.

tgif は plus にある最新のもので、 tgif-4.2.2-2vl6.i686 です。
どのようにすれば日本語が使えるでしょうか？
