に沿って作業しましたが駄目でした

作業内容と /var/log/cups/error_log のメッセージは以下の通りです

$ sudo ln -s /bin/echo /etc/init.d/lpd

(念のためリブート)

$ sudo rpm -ivh --nodeps brhl5240lpr-2.0.1-1.i386.rpm

restart

接続先を usb:/dev/usb/lp0 から parallel:/dev/lp0 に変更

接続先: parallel:/dev/lp0
デフォルト設定: バナー=none, none 用紙サイズ=iso_a4_210x297mm 両面指定=one-sided
